Nicki Minaj has returned after a three month social media hiatus with new music, and message to her fans. In her new single ‘Chun Li’, Nicki proclaims that she is the female King Kong of them all. Referring to her rapper status as one of the top emcee’s with notable hit records and surpassing Aretha Franklin’s 73 count on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 2017.
Nicki Minaj hold the crown for the most visits appearances among women in Billboard’s 59th-year history and while there is no bragging mentions on the new record – she is aware of her impact in music.
However, the pink print rapper feels that her artist credibility is under attack. Her non-inclusivity to work with other female artists, and diva attitude was rumored amongst her industry peers. The release of her collaboration on Migos ‘Motorsport’ record drew similar speculation of those rumors.
Newcomer, Cardi B was also invited on the track yet Cardi and Nicki recorded their verses and filmed separately for the video production.
Speaking for herself, Nicki did and interview with beats one where she discussed her disappointment with Migo’s frontman, Quavo for not stepping in to put the rumors to rest when she publicly criticized.
Nicki also contends that she was an initial supporter of Cardi B and agreed that she join in on the collaborative song – but her feelings of the star changed following an interview Cardi did after the song debut.
The debate is still out on the timing of this, but we’re happy that Nicki has remerged with some two new fresh tracks, and we’re loving it. ‘Barbie Tingz’ goes so hard, and will be a chart topper.
