NBC’s ‘The Voice‘ is set to return on February 24th, and Usher is gearing up to take the winning trophy this year. The R&B singer has recruited the incomparable and vocally talented songstress, Jill Scott to be his ‘guest mentor’ for his contestants. In a recent interview with Extra Usher said:
” That’s my secret weapon, incredible, as a writer, as a musician, as an actress, all those elements really help to prepare artists. “
Jill Scott easily accepted the offer saying:
” When Usher calls you, you take the call “.
When asked about any advice she’s like to give to contestant Jill says:
” Listen to your gut, follow your heart and it will lead you somewhere special. “
It seems that with every new season each of the popular “singing shows” attempt to ‘step up their game’ to boost ratings and from the looks of Usher latest move, it’s working thus far.
