As Vh1 gets ready to unveil the highly anticipated film of multi-platinum group ‘TLC‘, Rozando ‘Chilli‘ Thomans and Tionne ‘T-Boz‘ Watkins stopped in New York to promote their new docu-film along with a premiere event in New York City. Chill and T-Boz appeared on Power 105.1 Breakfast Club show to talk about the new movie and a number of topics that were hush-hush and/or rumors prior to release of this new film [which is set to air on Oct. 21].
Chilli and T-Boz spoke candidly about their mismanagement of L.A. Reid and Pebbles [who was LA Reid’s wife at the time] that literally left them in debt and bankrupt after selling 10 million records off of their TLC: “Crazy Sexy Cool” album. The two also talked about why they chose to re-sign with L.A. Reid once again, moving forward from their failed relationships with their children’s father, and why they chose to make a film with a tv network [VH1]oppose to a movie film.
Take a read at a few excerpts from the interview below:
On Bad Contracts & Mismanagement:
” We were in the same firm as them. We had the same lawyer and accountant as them. It was all one big circle. The lawyer gave us money off of our bill because they were like “We really didn’t think you guys were going to blow up and do what you did. So he was like, “I apologize to you.” . It was conflict of interest from day one. It was so messed up – says T.Boz. Chill noted says “It calmed down” [in reference to when they decided to take back their power once they had sold millions of record].”
On Paying For Ownership Of Their Name TLC:
“Yeah. We had buy it. A million dollars a letter. Three million dollars. She wants to say she didn’t get enough money. ” says T.Boz
On Pebbles Forcing T-Boz To Perform After Being Hospitalized & Diagnosed With Sickle Cell Anemia:
” We had an award show, and she really said. Well I don’t care if we got to roll her out in a wheelchair, she gon’ do this performance tomorrow…. She knew I had sickle cell anemia and even if you didn’t, you see me crumpled up, delirious and in pain. But you know what and I know this may sound corny…. I don;t hate anybody because what I’ve learned from that. From having a bad dad and him ruining my life, you can’t change people. I’m not going to hurt myself and harbor feelings and be grudgeful and all of that crap for somebody else. I have no hard feelings… Good luck with your life. I’m on with mine and raising my child.”
” When I was a little girl… I just, always saw myself on TV. “When your little you say you want to be a STAR”. I wanted to be a MOM. And those were things very passionate to be. I didn’t want become a mother too soon. There was no teen pregnancy or nothing like that. When I did get pregnant, Pebbles kicked me out and then she put me back in the group. So I had just got back in the group so I was scared I was like OMG, I might get kicked out again. It was just really CRAZY and ALOT of different emotions… It was very hard for me to do what I did because I wanted it so badly. I’m not the person picketing outside of abortion clinics because I do believe its a woman’s choice. But I didn’t want to do that so it haunted me. So that’s when I really became obsessive [almost]. Looking at baby commercial with huggies – I cried. “
On Her Relationship With Music Producer Dallas Austin & Later Having A Child With Him:
“Well, at the time.. I think after the abortion. It was something [pause]. I think I needed therapy. But the thing is that I felt that the only way to make things alright was to have a baby with him still. I don;t why I didn’t think to wait and meet someone else. So it was something that I was going through emotionally. “

Following the interview Pebbles took to twitter and said that she will be taking legal action for “slander” and “defamation of character“. Check out what she tweeted below:
” I’m not here to promote something I put on the MAP and yet have been disrespected by because of more reasons than one! Lawyers on deck. I would say being lied on 4 as long & trying to continue to is sadder. But, the continued slander from all will help prove what was done. “
“Thank you love. It’s not good what they played a part of but it will be dealt with now that the slander continues. TLC without me? No way. I gotta go. Like I said hours ago, have a good one and let’s keep it good and class from over here. I was to see All do well. Always have! ‘
Not sure if anger got the best of Pebbles, but there is was one or more inappropriate sentences in her response that is questionable as to what she is referring to.
