As you may have heard, Marvin Gaye’s son, Marvin Gaye III has sought legal action against Robin Thicke and collaborators Pharell and T.I of the popular hit song “Blurred Lines” . It’s Gaye’s son belief that Thicke used a sample from Marvin’s 1977 hit song “Got To Give It Up” and therefore needs to pay compensation for the illegal usage.  Robin, Pharell, and T.I. have counter-sued Gay’s family  in protection of their rights of the track [which they feel is not remotely close to the Gaye’s original classic. Well,  Gaye III says:
” We’re all the fans of Robin Thicke, as well as he’s a fan of my father. Our point is that there’s a way to do business and there’s a way not to do business. We’re not happy with the way that he’s been doing business, let alone suing us when it’s clear where he got his inspiration from [at the least]. “
Music icon, Stevie Wonder weighed in on the feud and noted that he too has had his fair share of lawsuits over songs but in the case of the ‘Blurred Lines‘ track, he sides with Thicke. Wonder tells TMZ:

” No I don’t think its a steal from Marvin Gaye. I think objectively…… I’ve been through lawsuits over songs and all of that.  I think that that groove is very similar but you got to remember he’s a big fan of Marvin Gaye so that’s okay. But the song is NOT the same song. So if the family [Gaye’ family] should hear this I say ‘Don’t let your lawyer or whomever ‘ get into losing on money that’s not worth it.”
