Clint Eastwood is still at a stand-still with this reamke film “A Star Is Born“. The actor/director originally has been trying to get the project off the ground for the past three years now and Eastwood orignially recruited Beyonce for the lead actress role but Beyonce recently pulled out of the gig. The singer/newly mom is gearing up to release new music and her own documentary and a rep from her team says that queen Bey is way too busy at the moment.
While that put a dent in the project, it is rumored that Eastwood has since recruited jazz singer and musician Esperanza Spalding, [who won the 2011 Grammy Award for best new artist] for the role however finding a lead male also seems to be a daunting task for Eastwood.
The initials actors that were suggested included Robert Downey Jr., Russell Crowe, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio and Bradley Cooper, but no one has yet to be confirmed. Now there were rumor talks that Beyonce may have declined the role due to her political stance and other rumors suggest that Bey was expecting another child [which is false]. As you may know, Beyonce and her hubby Jay-Z are democrats and having been campagining for Obama’s re-election, and Eastwood is a republican and has publicly endorsed Romney as well. Now this seems more of a valid argument given the tension between the candidates during this years presidential election. However, I’m not sure how much of politics play into role of movies and working other actors who may have a different political view.
So what’s this movie all about?
“The new remake of the A Star is Born will revolve around a fallen rock star and an aspiring singer. Its main source of inspiration will be the 1976 film with Barbara Streisand, rather than the earlier versions with Janet Gaynor (1937) and Judy Garland (1954), which were set in the movie industry -reports TimesLive! ”
