As you may have heard Nike is gearing up to release Lebron James new shoe entitled “The Lebron X” by the end of the year. Now James latest sneaker iks said to be one of the most advanced kind or as USA Today reports “a motion sensing technology sneaker. Now, Nike has said that it will be releasing two versions of the sneaker; one will feature the classical version which will sell for $180 in retail stores,while the more more advanced shoe will retail for $315.

The shoe is engineered to prioritize responsiveness, impact protection and dynamic containment, all required for LeBron’s unique skillset. Combining four of Nike’s most innovative technologies, the LeBron X features dynamic Flywire technology, Hyperfuse construction, Nike Plus functionality (though there will also be a non-Plus model) and the first full-length visible Zoom Air unit.
Now, this sneaker has caused popular attention and the National Urban League is now seeking to pull the plug on the Lebron X’s before it’s fall release. According to the press release of the Indiana Urban League who seeking this iniative:
“High-priced sneakers is a false sense of status in a time when many families are struggling.”
“It’s competing against family dollars at school time,” said Joe Slash, president and chief executive officer of the Indianapolis Urban League. “It should be used to buy school supplies, clothes, calculators,computers and things that will help a child academically.”
Sneaker pirces have excelled enormoslly in percentage pricing, but its up to the consumers to draw the line says IUL owner Thom Burleson
“This has been something occurring over the last year and a half. It seems like it’s been going up 5 percent to 8 percent a year….We’ve found that with all vendors. It’s not just Nike.”
The Indiana Urban Leagues seeks to meet with Nike to come to some sort of resolve, but until then, they have decided not to feature the expensive shoe in their stores.
Given the backlash of violence erupting during the midnight release of high profile name sneakers [Air Jordans, Phone Deposits, The Lebron’s] Nike says that they will opening their doors to consumers at 8:00pm instead.
