American Idol ended it’s 15th season tonight, and they went out with a bang. If you missed it you certainly missed a great show tonight; more like an Idol concert. Past winners and memorable contestants took to the stage and perform new and classic records and they didn’t disappointment.
Some of my favorite performers tonight were, Fantasia, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Jessica Sanchez, Jennifer Lopez, Ruben Studdard, Chris Daughtry, Joshua Ledet, Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Hicks, Tamra Gray, Pia Toscano, Jordin Sparks, and Colton Dixon.
Original Judges, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson made a surprise appearance, and moment’s later it was time for the winner to be crowned for the last time in idol history.
The stakes were high, the votes were counted, and following the drumroll, Ryan Seacrest announces that Trent Harmon is the next American Idol. Oddly the winner reveal caught many people by surprise. At close glance, it seemed that the the judges were also shocked, as they slowly grasp their hands to clap .
One commentator revealed LaPorsha appeared calm as if she’d already known her fate, but that didn’t stop twitter from unleashing their thoughts.

According to Billboard, both Trent and LaPorsha have signed contracts, and are in good hands. There was also talk about Ryan Seacrest hinting words that Idol could be returning in the future.
Seacrest signed off as per usual but his last line was slightly different. ‘As We Say In Hollywood, This Is Goodbye America, FOR NOW’, said Seacrest! Despite their decline in ratings, American Idol surely gave us some great moments during their fifteen year run ad they have also birthed a few stars that we probably would not have known if it weren’t for the show.
