Carolina Panthers quarterback and the NFL season MVP, Cam Newton came under heavy fire after his team were defeated by the Denver Broncos at Super Bowl 50. Newton reportedly didn’t follow what some felt was ‘gentlemen like’ behavior at the post game press conference when he decided to not answer any questions, and quietly walk out of a room full of reporters.
There’s no question that Newton was frustrated and angered over the loss of a championship title and the public lack of ‘sympathy’ was nothing more than added stress as the outpour of memes and jokes ensued shortly after the super bowl game.

This week, Cam spoke to the media and had this to say about his regrets:
I Really Don’t, It Happened! I Didn’t Want To Talk To The Media At The Time,Uh, And The Truth Of The Matter Is I Really Don’t Want To Talk To The Media Now, But At The End Of The Day, Things Have To Happen, I Had Some Time To Go Back And Play Things Out And,… I Had I’m Human, I Never Once Said I Was Perfect, Nor Have I Proclaimed That I Was Perfect.
The Truth Of The Matter Is, Who Are You To Say That Your Way Is Right, That’s What I Don’t Understand. You Have All These People That’s Condemning And Saying – Oh Man He Should Of Done This And That But What Makes Your Way Right. I’ve Been On Record To Say I’m A Sore Loser, Who Likes To Lose!
Cam went on to say that he is proud of how his team played through out the season with two losses under their belt, and affirms that he and his team-mates are ‘professional athletes’ and not ‘classless thugs’ as the media has portrayed them to be. Cam also discussed the criticism over his ‘fumble’ which many believe was an early indicator that the team would lose the game.
I’m still #teamcam on this one. Cam took the high road, remained silent, and choose ‘NOT TO ENGAGE’ by simply walking away and yet he was vilified in the media for it. The irony here is that he would’ve been dealt the same hand and called a ‘sore loser’ if he’d spoke angrily or in an aggressive tone.
