The Deets Behind Chris Rock’s Daughter Adoption Controversy!

Chris Rock is currently in hot water over his allegedly ‘illegal’ third child.  According to news report, Rock [who’s currently pending a divorce from his wife of 19 years [Malaak Compton-Rock] only spends visitation time with his two biological daughters, Zahra, and Lola.

Back in 2010, the comedian was spotted in NYC walking out of the trump plaza hotel with an unidentified third child [Ntombi] , his daughter Zara  [age 5 at the time] and a nanny. When rumors began to fuel the internet, Rock issued a statement saying:

The child in the photograph is the daughter of a family friend of South Africa whom Malaak met through her charity endeavors over the years.  The child reportedly made frequent visits to the Rock family, but there was no legal adoption that took place.

So Here’s The Controversy:

Allegedly, Ntombi has been living with the Rock family in 2008  [under a visitor visa] since she was six months old. Malaak wants Chris to continue fulfilling his role as father and provider of all three children despite the couple’s pending divorce.

Chris Rock allegedly refuses to do so unless certain demands are met. Chris reportedly demanded that Malaak provide proof of legal adoption papers prior to any negotiations. Chris claims he is unaware how Malaak brought Ntombi to the states from South Africa.  Ntombi has lived with the couple for seven years. Chris allegedly has not seen Ntombi since he filed for divorce from Malak a year ago.

Now, The Controversial Question:

Chris has the legal right to remove himself as parental guardian from the child but the question at hand is – Should He?

There is also other questions that are unanswered? Why was Ntombi never adopted? Did the Chris & Malaak have an arrangement with Ntombi’s parents?

According to Chris Rock brother, Tony  [who spoke with TMZ] last week,   Ntombi is considered – part of the Rock family.

So, what we we’re witnessing here is probably a huge ‘liability’ and serious consequences to come for Chris & Malaak if there is proof that Ntombi over-stayed her visitation without proper legal adoption.

That’s a usually a No-No in the U.S, and clearly no one wants to take the blame. Malaak is reportedly scurrying to get legal adoption for Ntombi and Chris Rock is staying out of the controversy.
