I’m usually not a fan of the American Music Awards for more reasons than one but this year was definitely a must see considering the performance lineup, and host, Jennifer Lopez which by far was the best decision the AMAs could’ve of made to boost ratings and diversity.

Ok, enough of my quick rant, let’s get right into it. J-LO delivered a spectacular opening number; starting with an acapella rendition of followed by a dance routine to the hottest songs of the year. ‘Jenny from The Block’ was QUEENING last night; sporting ten wardrobe looks throughout the night, J-LO reigned supreme at the AMAs.

Gwen Stefani,  The Weekend, Justin Beiber, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, & Ariana Grande performances were my favorite’s of the night.  I loved the small hip hop element in the ‘Star Wars’ performance from Pentatonix, and Celine Dion’s french song tribute to the paris attacks was heartfelt and beautifully sung [although I didn’t understand any of the words].

Prince attendance is always an honor in itself, but it was more than special for singer, The Weekend who was presented with an AMA from the music icon.

The Weekend is so mysteriously sexy and always gives a riveting performance; one that requires no back up dancers, no huge symphony band,  just good vocals and a few fire lighters. The 25-year old took home two awards last night for and Favorite Soul/R&B Album and Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist.

Nicki Minaj looked gorgeous [as usual] and received two awards for the best Favorite Hip Hop Artist, and Favorite Hip Hop Album.

Demi Lovato’s red carpet look was absolutely stunning, and her performance was just the same. Since were on the subject, Demi also scored a duet performance of ‘You Outta Know’ with Alanis Morrisette for all my 90’s PLUM’s. Classic!

Sam Hunt winning for Best New Artist was definitely one of my happiest moments of AMA’s. I’m not sure what is Hunt’s preferred genre, but if you ask me, its a blend of spoken word, country and pop and I love it.

Beiber’s finale performance was the right desert to end the 2015 AMA’s. Starting with an acoustic rendition of my favorite songs right now  ‘What Do You Mean’  then  ‘Where Are You Now’, and his new single ‘Sorry’

The 2015 AMA’s did not disappoint. One Love PLUMS!
