Wale’s recent remarks in an interview with Power 105.1 The Breakfast Club show set off a social media alarm when his label mate, Meek Mill hopped on instagram shortly thereafter with a verbal termination slip from their MayBack Music Group label.
Whats interesting here, is that every guest that has interviewed at ‘The Breakfast Club’ in the past month [including MMG label bossman Rick Ross] were asked their opinion on the drake vs. meek mill beef and the answer was pretty much a consensus of the public majority – Meek Mill Loss! Period. Rick Ross even noted that he has and would continue to collaborate with Drake – [the homie] as he put it.
So why would Meek Mill be so quickly tempered to respond and or call out his MMG labelmate – Wale for airing his truth on the subject?
Let’s Get Into It Shall We!
Wale’s interview involved many topics of conversation from Raven Symone’s recent foolish commentary against her black kin folks, Lamar Odom’s $75,000 splurge for prostitution services, and cry for help [which he’d given empathy to as a person who has undergone depression occasionally in his career], the state of the music industry, and the trending rise of Gay artists whom he feels
has an advantage point in the music industry like artist [Sam Smith] whom [he says] sounds very much like ‘Tank’ .” Tank, Miguel or Tyrese would NOT have climbed up the music charts if they’d release the same ballad song.”
Wale’s ‘Meek Mill’ reference was a baby footprint compared to the larger conversation at hand and the only reason that particular soundbite aggravated the sh-t out of Meek Mill is because Wale uttered the current divide in the MMG camp with a direct jab at Meek Mill; equating Meek’s beef with drake to a man ‘bringing a pencil to a gun fight’.
In the interview, Wale contends that he considers Meek as a friend [and not some random industry affiliate] who he’s reached out to him several times when the beef ensued and heard no reply. Wale also revealed that the same occurrence would happen when relationship troubles would arise between with Meek and Nicki.
Now, Wale didn’t leave out Drake in his remarks neither. Wale spoke truth to Drake’s privilege and advancement in the music game without directly stating that his Jewish decent contributes to the power of his success. Wale admitted that the once powerful MMG group is not a unified entity; hence the reason for his soon departure and signing to a new label.
But What About The Elephant In The Room?
Sadly, we’re not discussing Wale’s admission to ‘blowing his brains’ if he does not reach his plateau of success.
” I Appreciate What I Have, But I Know What I Deserve!”
Needless to say, Meek Mill was not happy about Wale’s remarks.
This is the second time, that Meek has publicly outed Wale. Back in July of 2014 Meek blasted Wale for not ‘tweeting’ his album in support of his ‘Dream Worth More Than Money’ album release debut and here we are again.
Welp, Ross denounced the rumors this morning and says that Wale is still MMG and Meek has since deleted the lengthy instagram post. So Whose Really The Boss Here?

And now for the conclusion – Ross announced that MMG ‘Self Made 4’ album is underway! This could’ve of very well been yet another publicity stunt to promote the group’s album and Wale’s fifth album debut.
One Love PLUMS!
