Nick Minaj is making great new strides in the film & television world. The ABC family has just announced that the 32-year old rapper will co-executive produce and appear in a new comedy series about her life’s journey, music evolution, and rise to stardom after migrating to the United States in the early 1990’s from Trinidad and Tobago.

Deadline reveals that Minaj and Adele are the only two artists in history to sell 1 million copies of five different songs in one year. Minaj’s single ‘Anaconda’ reached double-platinum success with the record breaking views on VEVO for the most watched video in 24 hours. Minaj’s latest album ‘The PinkPrint’ is the second highest selling female debut of 2014 and still holds the No.2 spot on the Billboard Top 200 and No.1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Albums Chart.
In recent years Minaj has also made her debut appearance on the big screen; landing the voice-role in Ice Age: ‘Continental Drift’, co-starring role in feature comedy ‘The Other Woman’ and next year she will co-star in Ice Cube’s upcoming sequel film ‘Barbershop 3’.
