Justine Skye is back with a refreshing new single entitled ‘Bandit’. The single serves as the first installment from her upcoming EP ‘Emotionally Unavailable’ which is slated for debut in May . The 19-year old brooklyn native [known for her signature purple tresses] garnered a huge following and industry buzz in 2013 up through the present with hit songs from her first EP ‘Everyday Living’ , ‘2Am’ , ‘Sorry’ ‘Trippin’ ‘Messing With You’ [ft. Joey Badass], and break out single n 2014 ‘Collide’ featuring rapper Tyga
Skye honed her craft in singing lessons and songwriting and has worked with August Rigo, Justin Beiber, One Direction, Musiq Soulchild, Eric Hudson, Kanye West, Diddy, and August Alsina.
In a recent interview with Vibe Vixen, Skye dished on the new album which she states will address her recent break-up with her teenage sweetheart.
” There’s a fun party song called ‘On & On’ . I feel like it’s a great representation of me. Travi$ Scott is getting on it too, so that’s really dope. The EP’s coming out in May and I feel like it’s also a great time too, because [my fans] are like, ‘You went through a break-up and we need answers’ …….“
” I’m not going to blurt out my whole life on the internet, and just be all crazy emotional. I’m not that type of person, but its in my music. All the answers they’re going to be looking for will be through that. ”
Sky also dished on her confidence saying:
” Being that kid that was really scared and in th background a lot. I decided that I didn’t want to be that person anymore. Life is too short to be scared and not take risks. I’d be the person that’s like ‘I messed up’ than I wish I did that. ”
