Anthony Mason Passes Away From CHF At Age 48

Over the weekend, the sports league and global nation, lost NY Knicks legend, Anthony Mason. Mason died on Saturday [Feb.28] morning from Congestive Heart Failure. Mason reportedly was hospitalized three weeks prior after suffering a massive heart attack. Mason was said to be getting better following multiple heart surgeries but sadly he’s succumb to his death.

Mason played in the NBA for 13 years and was known as ‘Big Mase; the 6 foot 7  ‘power forward’   who always wore creative art in his signature hair cuts and played six seasons on the NY Knicks team.

NBA Hall Of Famer, and former Knicks center Patrick Ewing had this to say of Mason:

” Mase came to play every night and was always ready to go to battle with me every time we stepped on the court;  he was a Knicks legend.

Michael Jordan added:

” Mase was one of the toughest competitors of his era.”

People from all parts of the world issued their condolences via social media.

Mason’s son issued a public announcement following the announcement of his father’s death.

” First I want to thank all of those who offered prayers and well wishes for my Father, our family really appreciates it. Overnight New York City and the world lost a legend, a friend, a brother, but more than anything our father, Anthony Mason. As you all would expect our father, Big Mase put up an incredible fight, dealing with a severe heart issue. I’m wishing this was something else I was writing, but Pops we’ve got to let you know we love you and know you’ll always be with us. “
