In preparation of his upcoming studio LP , ‘Man In The Mirror’ , Manuill releases his first single ‘7 hours’ in memory of Mike Brown and Eric Garner. Produced by Firzt Born, Busta, & Producer Legend in his own words, the connecticut-bred emcee tells PLUM,
” Black vs White, Rich against Poor, the Powerful vs. the Weak… all these are timeless battles that are fought in society on a daily basis. Positions of power have been taken advantage of since the beginning of time and honestly it will always be an issue, as in the cases of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.”
After these tragic incidents everybody had some type of opinion, whether it was sided with the cops or the victims…With this track, I wrote from the perspective of the 2 victims looking back at the tragic turn of events from the morgue, 7 hours after the incident. Basically it’s a reflection of the spirit-soul looking back at their final moments.
This is Hip Hop in its purest form, addressing the issues of our culture and community, and using our knowledge and skill to evoke the emotion and inspire progress.
