The interview that has everyone talking!

If there’s anything you need to know about Jaden & Willow is that they live by their own rules. Earlier this week, Jaden & Willow faced public backlash and harsh criticism from top news outlet  [ie: The Grio, Entertainment Weekly, ABC, New York Daily, USA Today, etc] for their recent interview with The New York Times T magazine .

It seems their mere expressed ideology of life has disappointed many. The obvious criticism were that ‘they’re  just clueless teenagers’, living freely because they’re birthed from wealthy parents [Jada & Will Smith] who are ‘Scientologists’.

In the article, Jaden and Willow talk about ‘Prana Energy’, their best investments as musicians,  and living through life experiences rather than from a uniform system. Jade reveals his personal truths on the   ‘School Is Not Authentic’  because it has an end.

But let’s look at a few positives. In the  interview the Jaden and Willow talked about a few things   ‘Prana Energy’.  Jaden & Willow  where they openly stated that ‘School is not Authentic’

JADEN: Here’s the deal: School is not authentic because it ends. It’s not true, it’s not real. Our learning will never end. The school that we go to every single morning, we will continue to go to.

WILLOW: Forever, ‘til the day that we’re in our bed.

JADEN: Kids who go to normal school are so teenagery, so angsty.

WILLOW: They never want to do anything, they’re so tired.

JADEN: You never learn anything in school. Think about how many car accidents happen every day. Driver’s ed? What’s up? I still haven’t been to driver’s ed because if everybody I know has been in an accident, I can’t see how driver’s ed is really helping them out.

WILLOW: I went to school for one year. It was the best experience but the worst experience. The best experience because I was, like, “Oh, now I know why kids are so depressed.” But it was the worst experience because I was depressed.

Sidebar: I thought many people [or most religious follks] would actually agree with them on the school philosophy.  For many people who believe that GOD is of the living and not of the dead, would certainly agree that the evolution of life is nothing more than a continuous cycle energy that permeates throughout the world’s atmosphere, hence their statement on ‘Prana Energy’

Ok – I’m getting too deep here,

All comments aside, if you put religion aside you’ll see some of the positive feeds of the article. Here’s a few of my favorite highlights:

Willow: In my regular life, I put on clothes that I can climb trees in

………

Willow: Breathing is meditation; life is a meditation. You have to breathe in order to live, so breathing is how you get in touch with the sacred space of your heart.

Jaden: Your mind has a duality to it. So when one thought goes into your mind, it’s not just one thought, it has to bounce off both hemispheres of the brain. When you’re thinking about something happy, you’re thinking about something sad. … That comes from a place of oneness

.………

Jaden: I have a goal to be just the most craziest person of all time. And when I say craziest, I mean, like, I want to do like Olympic-level things. I want to be the most durable person on the planet.

Jaden: When babies are born, their soft spots bump: It has, like, a heartbeat in it. That’s because energy is coming through their body, up and down.

Willow: Prana energy.

Jaden: It’s prana energy because they still breathe through their stomach. They remember. Babies remember.

Willow: When they’re in the stomach, they’re so aware, putting all their bones together, putting all their ligaments together. But they’re shocked by this harsh world.

Jaden: By the chemicals and things, and then slowly…

Willow: As they grow up, they start losing.

Jaden: Our learning will never end. The school that we go to every single morning, we will continue to go to.

What’s wrong with what they’re saying…. Last time I check, Chemically induced products are still harmful to humans. Is School overrated?  Yes and No.  Education is fundamental and necessary for all but Let’s Face It.…wisdom is not attained hence[ONLY] through the classroom of an educational institution.

The increase of  individual debt due to higher education costs, and this fake idea that when you graduate from college, you will finally attain the American Dream [an awesome job, awesome pay, great benefits, and live happily ever after is not completely accurate.

We’re living in different climate. Jobs are not easily obtained and secured these days. Everyone seems to be vying for the same jobs despite their degree concentrations.  Popularity goes along way  for those who desire to be in television [just ask any one of your favorite reality stars], and  if you manage to stay relevant for a number of years and acquire riches, you just might get a doctorate from a prestigious institution and be asked to give a commencement speech to thousands of newly graduates that have racked up debt due to high education costs.

There’s much trial and error that needs to be corrected in the education department so let’s not blame two teenagers for the real issue at hand……. I graduated from two non-prestigious colleges a few years ago and my degree means nothing in today’s workforce.

Willow’s ‘3’ EP  is available now on Google Play and  itunes.  Jaden’s ‘Cool Tapes’ Vol.2. is currently available for free download.
