Trina finally broke her silence on her relationship with rapper, French Montana during a recent interview with New York’s Power 105.1 ‘The Breakfast Club’ show. In more than one interview, French insists that that he and Trina were nothing more than ‘friends’ and reference their relationship as a moment of ‘fun’ and nothing more; meanwhile Trina tells a different tale.
Trina says she’s not bitter by the sudden break-up and his surprisingly swift romance to Khloe Kardashian but she did call Khloe’s actions ‘disrespectful’ [without saying her name] and says French lacks ‘maturity’ and is he’s acting like a ‘donkey’ at the moment. Trina admits to being more than a friend of French for well over a year, and says the two were living together.

” I’m not the kind of friend that you met in the club and we were just ‘smashing’ – says Trina. I do not play the side chick role. I don’t do that. They were rules and it was very clear. No woman ever came to the house, none of that…. I never said he was my man, and I never expected to him to say I was his girl because of what he was going through [ie: his divorce, and being new to the industry]. “
” I’m the one that told him to handle that situation and step up to the plate like a man….. I could really come up here and expose him and it will be overwhelming but I’m so much better than that. “
Charlamagne then asked Trina to elaborate further on French’s claims of their ‘friendship’ and Trina responded:
” I ‘m the type of friend that whenever he came to Miami, he stayed at my house, he never stayed at a hotel. The one that went with you [French] to look for a house, was with you when you closed on your house, the one that shipped furniture from Miami to your house, yeah so when see those instagram pics of his house and the furniture and all that, that’s me, yeah I did that….. The friend that still has the keys to your house til this very day.
.…. I shipped the monkey to his house from Fort Lauderdale.”
Trina contends that her new single ‘F–k Love” is not about former romance with French nor is she giving up on love, although it comes off that way.
Trina confirms that she was friends with Kim Kardashian prior, and reveals she’d met Khloe before meeting Kim. She admits that the relationship is much awkward now for obvious reasons. Trina has not run into Khloe nor French since this love triangle fiasco began.
” I don’t blame her [Khloe] for the situation , you’re grown,.. I don’t think she washed against her will to talk or date him and pull him away. People go where they want to go. ”
The result. Trina is a happily single woman, and while Khloe is seeking to finalize her divorce to Lamar Odom and she and French are are still an item.
