More uproar in St.Louis, Missouri this week following another fatal shooting of an 18-year old teenager by a police officer Wednesday night [Oct.8th].
There are conflicting reports of the incident, however the police officer in question alleges that the teen was armed and fired at him at three times before his gun jammed. However, witnesses tell a different story citing that the teen was holding a sandwich [which was mistaken for a gun] causing the officer to return 17 shots which led to his death.
” Ferguson Police Chief Sam Dotson held at press conference earlier today and says that an the six year veteran officer was off duty during his neighborhood watch patrol when he encountered three black teenagers standing on a corner.
The teenagers took off running as the police car pulled up towards and, one of the teenagers stopped and issued fire upon the officer, and the officer returned fire. The end result – one teenager dead. “
A nine -millimeter gloc weapon was reportedly found at the murder scene.
This incident [which took place a few miles from #ferguson] has already sparked outraged on social media and increased tensions between the black community and the St. Louis police department [YET AGAIN]. No arrests have been made thus far, but protest re-booted in St. Louis last night. The deceased teenager name has not been released, and neither has the officer in questioning of the fatal shooting.
The un-resolve of the death of Michael Brown, and the non-arrest of Darren Wilson is still unsettling for many Americans and now this. SMH!
