Good Deed Gone Wrong!
Arizona elementary school teacher, Pam Aister was fired from her the job she called home for twenty-five years. The veteran teacher of Fountain Hills Unified School District broke ‘school code’ when she stood up for an African American fourth grade student, Malachi Gillis who received harsh bully treatment from other student peers back in May of this year.
As the reports suggest, Aister was the ‘bully’ in this case after she fired back verbally at the bullies and thus she was given the pink slip. Aister told KTAR radio show
” They called him the N-word, ‘Monkey’, and ‘Coon’ – says Aister… I said the student is in my room now, he’s not alone any more, and if you’re picking on him, you’re picking me one. It’s not five against one, it’s five against two, and there will be no more taunting, teasing, or racial names . “
” Why is she being fired for something that she should be doing….. because she stood up for this one black kid in her class –says Jennifer Gillis. “
Ms. Gillis says she plans to sue Four Peaks Elementary School and her son Malachi hopes that Aister will resume her role as a teacher but not at the FP Elementary.
Malachi now attends a new school, and there is a current petition on change.org to get Aister reinstated and not get 3 of the 5 school members [that are up for re-election] removed from the duty indefinitely.
