Michael Dunn, 47 was found guilty on first degree murder this week for the killing of 17 year-old Jordan Davis at a Jacksonville, Florida gas station. Dunn shot into an SUV full on teenagers , killing Davis following a verbal encounter where he [Dunn] ordered Davis and friends to turn down their ‘loud’ music.
Dunn showed little emotion when the verdict was read and all thirteen [all white men and women] jurors concurred the guilty verdict.
Davis mother says that JUSTICE was served in this case and for all the nameless unheard voices ie: Trayvon Martin who’s murdered was acquitted for gunned down over skittles.
” Words cannot express our joy but also our great sorrow because…we know that Jordan has received his justice. we know that Jordan’s life and legacy will live on for others, but at the same time, we’re very saddened by the life that Michael Dunn will continue to live.
We are saddened for his family, for his friends and the community that will continue to suffer by his actions. “
Davis father shared the same sentiments saying noting that JUSTICE can be served no matter the jurors race or ethnicity.
