Rain and I sat down with rapper, Fred The Godson aka ‘Frederico’ to discuss the success of his latest mixtape Fat Boy Fresh, his success as an independent artist, and more.
Fred aka the definition of a real EMCEE has close to ten years in the rap game, and he is one the most successful independent artist with a global fan base. We sat with down with the bronx-bred rapper to discuss current state of hip hop, its sacrifices, and his upcoming ‘EP’ projects.

On The Success Of His Mixtape Fat Boy Fresh:
” You hear the music, and you just can’t help to wee what’s missing. Nobody really knew I was doing this mixtape, I was by myself and I knew i wanted “Fresh in the name and I’m Fat so.. I wanted to give the fans something new ”
” I have my likes and my favorites, there’s certain music that comes out, that everybody likes and I’m like shaking my head… It changed, music has different genre’s of hip hop. You have the Chief Keef’s, you have the Eminem’s, but to each is own. “
On His Take On The Current Of Hip Hop:
” I just want the rappers to step it up. I think the producers are doing alot of the work. It’s no more where the rappers to rock the stadium where they tell their producer to cut the beat off and just rock the crowd, there’s only probably like a handful of rappers that can do that right now. ”
On Ferguson and Its’ Impact:
” It’s terrible, what he [Mike Brown] did was wrong but he got GUNNED DOWN for that and he didn’t deserve that. And you know we don’t need the television to show us anymore that it’s all on our timeline on social media so it definitely changes things “
