What If Your Only Desire Is To Journey Around The Globe?
Felix Sharck left his corporate job to do just that. Just one year ago, he set out to travel the world as far as he could on a bicycle.
Carrying only 120 pounds of luggage, for an entire year Sharck’s traveled more than 11,000 miles all on a bike and he visited 22 countries which he documented in a upcoming entitled “Pedal The World”
Sharck’s shared his journey with Right This Minute earlier today and says his experience was LIFE changing.
On Why He Decided To Take This Journey:
” I wanted to break out of the system for some time now, and decided that maybe I just bicycle the world, so I just left home and exactly one year later I’ve now returned home. “
On The Hardest Part Of His Journey:
” It’s pretty hard to put effort into pedaling every single day to get to from A to B, no matter if your sick, home sick, or lonely, you have to put effort into getting further so that was by far the hardest part. “
On The Most Comforting Item:
” My Laptop “
On Fondest Memories:
” There’s so many, but I would say the constant hospitality of strangers in the world . No matter where you go in this world Asia, America, Europe, or where ever.
I’ve got hosted so many times for dinner, a place to sleep, or coffee which I was offered over a hundred times, and that just kept me going. I appreciate life way more now, and the little things; going to a cafe and drinking cappuccino[WOW], running water [WOW], my own bed. “
On His Decision To Donate All The Proceeds To Charity:
” I saw Alot of MYSERY in the world, and that’s why I said hey I don’t actually want to make money with this documentary. Right now we’ll donate one Euro per sold DVD or documentary and will donate more because we don’t want to make ANY profit we just want to spread the word. “
When asked if he’d consider taking another bicycle journey Sharck says:
” Right now it’s over but I ‘m already starting to plan new trips. “
