Rising PLUM Artist: Ikkon Debuts New Single “I Can Be Ya Man”

The west coast native debut his new single ” I Can Be Ya Man “ earlier this month and it’s getting raved reviews. Ikkon says 90’s R&B has had a lot of influence on his musical taste, style and delivery, mentioning such popular 90’s male vocalists as: Tyrese Gibson, Genuwine, R Kelly, Tevin Campbell and most favorably noted Bobby Brown.

I can be ya man’ is written and produced by two of California’s own, this record definitely puts on for the west coast R&B movement. De’La of Trak Nation and myself are bringing back the emotional intensity of the 90’s blend with the new age flare for R&B-Pop fusion.

This production team has credits with Rayven Justice, Sage the Gemini, Jon Hart and many more of the Bay Area’s legendary musicians – Ikkon.’

Terrance De’Andre Johnson(born January 3,1987), better known by his stage name Ikkon, is an American Urban/ rhythm & blues recording artist from Berkeley, California. He began to gain recognition in 2011 with the EDM release of “Galaxy Girl”, released on DJ Fluid UK’s 2011 Rocket Records release “The Remixes”Mixtape. In 2013 Ikkon gained greater recognition with his first project release “The Preview:Enter the Icon”, with singles “I Adore U”, “Key II My Heart” & “Galaxy Girl” selected for World Wide Recordings “Artist of the Year Volume 3”, music scored on “East Los High” on Hulu (under the stage name ‘Be Iconic’).

In January 2014 Ikkon released two singles “Automatik Love” and “Close the Door”, both singles gaining instant recognition from media outlets/radio and music magazines and blogs around the world.

From childhood Ikkon knew music as refuge, singing through painful times and even joyous occasions. After going to Morehouse College as a Psychology major, Ikkon, again found refuge in the performance arts. In 2010 Ikkon chose the life as a musical performer over continuing his road to graduation at Morehouse College, Ikkon needed to embark on his journey toward his music-identity. in 2010 Ikkon moved back to the Bay Area to begin work on his solo debut “the Preview” EP, which was released June 4, 2013 on itunes, rhapsody & amazon June of 2013.

The independent success of the project prompted Ikkon to move to Los Angeles to further pursue his carer as a singer-songwriter. The top of 2014 Ikkon Released two single “Close the Door” and “Automatik Love”, from forthcoming project “RARE Form” EP slated for a spring 2014 release.
