Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Angola International Fashion Show event at 49 Grove, in the meat packing district of New York City. Despite the last minute venue changes, the event was definitely worth the wait.
First up was G.O.O.D Music artist, Teyana Taylor who debut her new clothing line ‘ Taylor’d & Bow ‘; classy and sporty edge clothing catered to men’s fashion. The line consists of trendy fall colors, red, black & white, detachable sleeves, high collar zipper dresses, diagonal zippered hoodie’s faux leather/leather long sleeve jersey’s.
Toure Designs followed next and debut their new fall line which in short was simply AMAZING.

Toure displayed new patterns of his signature “Gazelle” symbols which included African prints, royal paisley, lace, animal skin, and leather /faux leather fused with today’s urban fashion wear. Hoodie sweaters, pocket leather pants, biker diagonal pattern zippered shirts, short and long, two piece jackets and high-waisted tribal print skirts and pants was their hit look of the night.
Teyana was supported by her NBA baller beau Iman Shumpert and close friends. Other celebrity attendees included Love & Hip Hop star, Erica Mena, Raekwon, WBO Middle Weight boxing champ Peter Quillin aka Kid Chocolate and more. Al Hassan was also supported by his sister and brother.
The finale show was concluded by Estillista Lisete Pote, a native of Angola, Estillista Lisete was born in Luanda and went on to train in beauty and fashion in Portugal, before returning to her home country.
Over the years, Lisete has dressed participants in the Miss Angola pageants as well as many actors, singers and celebrities from Angola and across other African countries. A winner of many awards for styling and designer of the year, last year Lisete won the prestigious award for the Best Angolan Fashion Designer at the Expo.
