With all the hype and speculation surrounding Ray Rice and his wife Janay Palmer relationship, new rumors have surfaced alleging that Rice relationship with singer Teyana Taylor may have had something to do with the his physical altercation with his wife Janay a few months back. Meanwhile, Ray alleges that the incident stemmed from a heavy drinking prior.
” Rice told the Baltimore Ravens he and Janay Palmer had been drinking HEAVILY before the altercation. Rice is telling friends he becomes a different person when he boozes it up… so he’s changed his life. But he hasn’t changed that much, because we’re told he still drinks wines.. just not hard liquor – TMZ . “
” Ray and his wife were baptized this past March and are now born again Christians. Sources say they’ve also done religious mentoring with other couples, including NFL players and their wives – TMZ . “
Well, Teyana Taylor [who is currently dating NBA player Iman Shumpert] set the record straight in a recent interview with Philly’s Power 99 station about her relationship with Rice. Teyana firmly admits that she and rice are ‘FRIENDS’ and nothing more.
” We grew up in the same building …. he use to date my best friend so I know him.”
Rumors sparked recently that an alleged text between Taylor and Rice was behind Rice and Palmer fight. A few years ago, citing that Rice and Taylor were dating and the rumor spread further when Teyana was seen sporting a Ravens jersey shirt. and of course the ‘alleged’ subliminal tweets to one another.
On How Her Name Was Placed In This Story, Teyana says:
” No, the reason why they were fighting, they was fighting because they was dead a–wrong. Not because anybody received no text fro me cuz I ain’t got nothing to do with that…these are the same blogs that were also said that I was accused Colin Ckaping of raping me, and when the actual girl came out and said who she was, there was no apologies to Teyana. I’m at a point where all I can do is laugh….
….this is big matter. ESPN has not said my name, no sports blog has said my name, but a whole bunch of OUR people that want it to be so true but I cannot entertain those kind of things.
” What I’m not going to downplay is that me and Ray, we use to live in the same building, we all grew up together, and he used to date my best friend. I called her up and she laughing like….Teyana a don’t feed into it [because they’re trying to put her in it] and she’s like don’t feed into it. I don’t condone what he did or what his wife did. They need to work that out and figure it out. She should not have hit him and he should not have hit her. “
On How This Incident Impacts Her Current Relationship:
” It’s messed up because when you have your own personal relationship..like I’m in a full blown relationship with Iman Shumpert. So don’t drag me in the middle of that. I don’t want anything to do with that. I never touched that man, and I don”t have a reason to lie. But what ya’ll not going to say is that I had something to do with that incident. “
