Who Run The World – GIRLS!

Remember The Name, Mo’Ne Davis.

The thirteen-year old South Philly baseball player is the sole female athlete to appear on the cover of  Sports Illustrated magazine.  In case your wondering what all the buzz is about just take a read of the title it’s directly stated in the title caption of the magazine “Remember The Name” .

Last week, Davis struck out eight batters, allowed two hits, and walked none of her opponents leading her Philadelphia team to the World Series Finals.  Davis scored a huge following  on twitter resulting in 17, 000 followers in just one week with compliments from many athletes in the sports arena.

NBA player Kevin Durant wrote:

” This youngster is striking everybody out and she is a girl. I love it.

What’s interesting here is that baseball is not Davis first career love. Davis had long dreamed of becoming a professional basketball player. Luckily for her age, she is able to dabble in more than one spor until she enters the high school arena.

Take a look at Davis on the basketball court.

Mo’ne is quite the ‘Game Changer’ for the world of sports and little league. Hopefully her presence and skill will now shed light on the ‘status quo’ gender roles that are assigned for females in athletic sports.

South Korea went on to win the Little League World Series this week,  however Mo’ne star presence lives on!
