An impromptu invitation turns into a nightmare for Jada.
The teen says she was invited to a friends night out with high school peers but the night had a twisted change of events and Jada found herself in the center of a ‘sexual assault’ that went viral on the internet a day later.
Jada [who prefers to not reveal her last name] unveiled her identity after graphic to KHOU news after photos of her sexual assault hit the internet. According to Jada, she was drugged then raped by people whom she considered friends.
” It was just kids hanging out I just got swooped in to it. I wasn’t suppose to be there….I had no control to say NO. I didn’t tell anyone to take my clothes off and do what they did to me.”
The teenage boy that was hosting the party offered her a drink of punch. Jada believes the punch was spiked with a drug. She says she passed out and had no clue what happened until disturbing tweets and pictures surfaced the web.
” Everybody is texting me saying Are You Okay? It’s going to be okay, Jada…. My reputation is over and done with. “
” There’s no point of hiding. Because the pictures…everyone has seen my face and my body but that’s what I am so…[tears begin to fall down her face] …. I don’t care. “
I share this story to help spread awareness to the youth abroad. there are many ‘rape’ incidents [date rape, domestic rape, gang rape, rape of a child etc] that often go unnoticed because the victims are ashamed and too afraid to come forward. Many victims blame themselves, and feel as though they may have done something to warrant such abuse.
As Jada explains, she was at a place where she was not suppose to be. She let her guard down because she was among friends and to some degree she trusted them. Sadly, our new world consists of social media where daily lives are displayed, exploited, and ultimately watched by millions [by persons known and unknown], and therefore it’s important that WE [at all times] try to remain on guard in protecting our reputation.
