Who Is Pink LoMein?
Hey PLUM’s. Earlier this week I was scrolling through the instagram feed and I came across a picture that caught my eye. I then went to research the founder of this great painting and fell in love as I scrolled through her page.
The artist goes by the name @PinkLoMein. No biography has been written about the upcoming star but I wanted to write an article post about her work because I was truly inspired by it.
Here’s an artist who is simply living her life ‘vicariously free‘ and is able to display her self-love in the form of paintings. As you may have notice around the globe- the return of Natural Girls With Curls is the current trend.
There are many support forums, you tube videos, and websites that are now catering to the ‘curlvolution‘ market to encourage black ‘girls‘ and ‘women‘ [many of whom with Afro-kinky hair texture] to love and enjoy their own hair.
” Now, I’d like to re-iterate – the natural hair mission is not an attempt to insult, or criticize those of whom that enjoy heat-added styles [weaves, perm-pressed, and or straight hair look].
It’s goal is set out to empower, and educate black women about their hair type and its many functions as well as dis-spell the false notion that black hair is UGLY and DOES NOT GROW!
Pink Lomein’s panting show many different facets of the black woman. The above pic entitled “Purple Kisses Gouache P” is my favorite.
It reminds me of myself when I had loc’s in my hair. It’s authentic and BOLD. You can order this piece today for a just $75.00. Click here for more details.
Here’s a few more photos for your pleasure.
