Yasiin Bey formerly known as rapper/actor, Mos Def has canceled his upcoming U.S. tour. In a statement release on the boston tour website the reasons for the cancellation is due to immigration issues facing the star; one of which include his current ban from returning to the United States.

Bey was scheduled to perform at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston on May 15th but his tense relationship with the U.S  has prevented him from doing so at this time.

Earlier this year, Bey publicly announced his new residency in South Africa; citing that although he has lived in different regions of the earth Europe, Central America, North America in addition to his formative upbringing in Brooklyn, N.Y, he has never felt more at peace than when he took up residency in South Africa.

Sidebar: Uh Oh. Clearly, his statement and his public opinion of some of the U.S. flawed tactics with regards to the force feeding for Quantanamo Bay detainees upset them.

You can watch it below:  It’s pretty graphic.
