On May 4th, 2014, Rain & Kaye Plum made their debut on their new radio show entitled: ‘The Rain & Kaye Plum Show’ The one-hour opening show featured legendary Hip Hop DJ, Jazzy Joyce and BMI Publishing singer/songwriter, Katt Rockell.
Each of the guest talked about their careers, music influences, and assisted in the show’s ‘Chat Bout’ topic regarding the ‘ Pro’s & Con’s Of Social Media’.

Jazzy Joyce talked about her musical impact in hip hop. The renown ‘DJ‘ is a true pioneer in hip hop and was one of the first females to earn her ‘DJ‘ crown in the entertainment industry during during the 90’s era when the industry was male -dominated. Born and bred in the Bronx, Jazzy has acquired over two decades in the industry and says she’s managed to stay relevant by learning to evolve with industry climate.
In the interview, Jazzy also talked about her honorary DJ Award that she received at BET’s Black Girls Rock Awards, her admiration for founder, Beverly Bond, and her displeasure with the current ‘trend’ of celebrities hitting the turntables for ‘play’ at nightclubs .
Up Next was Katt Rockell. Katt has worked with some of the top celebrities of our time [Alicia Keys, Wyclef Jean, Janet Jackson, Christina Aguilera to name a few] , but this year she is putting the spotlight on herself and will debut her first solo EP entitled: ‘Living Free‘.
Katt was bred from a gospel family. Her upbringing [as she puts it] was very ‘structured’ and centered primarily around, GOD, Music, and Family. Katt spoke about her musical sound [which is ASTONISHING], the missing void in music, her new single ‘Pushin’, her influences from Sade, Shirley Ceasar and the great singers of the 70,’s 80s and 90’s, and teaming up with music producers BudaDaFuture & GrandMuzik for her solo EP.
