As for the inspiration behind the mixtape Juanyto says:
“I’ve been running with ‘Young New York‘ as a ‘aka’ name for months now. I really miss those ‘90s‘ mixtapes on how they were put together from Kapri, SNS, Ron G, Doo Wop & etc.” This Young New York wave is organic and people always keep asking mixtapes from me …so it feels right. This tape was my own tribute to mixtapes and B.I.G off my love with ” The What ” record featuring BIG and Meth. I chose the songs and sent beats to various artists.”” I wanted to highlight some of the artist in tri-state area that I want to see win. I worked with Fred the Godson on his tape in his final stages and this tape is something for my city to enjoy. My brother, Dominican Drew helped with the tape and got the young producers a look as well. “
