A new course is available for students attending New Jersey’s , Rutgers University. The University has adopted a course entitled “Politicizing Beyonce” a look inside the pop star’s life, rise to fame up to present day. Students taking the course will receive credits.
” According to Kevin Allred, lecturer/doctoral student for the Dept of Women and Gender Studies says the course is not geared towards Beyonce’s political view but students will examine race, gender, and sexuality in America utilizing Beyonce’s music. “
As critics continue to talk about Beyonce’s racy performance with husband Jay-Z at the 2014 Grammy Awards, Allred says:

” The course will analyze Beyonce’s videos and lyrics with readings from Black feminists. We seek to help students to think more critically about media consumption. “
