The Truth Hurts!
Trinidad James has stirred up another another hip hop debate with his latest public rant on the state of hip hop. James took to an audience in Brooklyn, New York and declared that as an artist he is better than the current competition, and he’d rather have ten ‘real’ people buy his album than a million fake listeners who would purchase his album just to because they want to ride his celebrity banner instead.
In his continued rant which he claims is just “real talk”, James says that New York has lost its crown in hip hop and the South or as he puts it [Atlanta rappers] are the elite rappers in hip hop today similar to former hip hop regime’s like Dipset, Ruff Ryders, Rocafella, G-Unit etc.
” You can’t tell me anybody that’s out here that’s a real hip hop fan that Kendrick Lamar was only suppose to go platinum this year. He’s been that good. But now the n—a that we been knew, to come and said he the King of New York – What is that?
” I remember when New York ran this shit. When Dipset was turnt the f-ck up. I remember when we was in Atlanta saying I have to wear my bandana like Juelz Santana…We was like we just gonna do our own thing and now we run ya’ll musically. That’s crazy! “
” I’m not trying to start nothing but if you want to do something we could do something cause I don’t give a f–k. I’m just being honest with you. I looked up to New York music. And out of everybody that’s popping in New York, you might as well can tell that he from Atlanta. Ya’ll got better interviewers that’s more popping than rappers. “
Sidebar: I wonder which New York rappers does James like? I couldn’t help notice that he is sporting a Coke Boys signature hat from New York rapper, French Montana’s clothing collection. Sounds like James was advocating for NY rappers to take the crown back -if you ask me.
Getting back to the real issue at hand, James speaks truth in his message and the truth hurts. Unfortunately the message is being looked over because James who thus far has one hit song “All Gold Everything” does not have enough “legit bars” or songs in the game to be a speaker on this topic says his opponents.
Clearly. the audience didn’t take well to James comments and neither did New York rapper Maino who issued a public threat that he was going to knock out James ‘teeth’ for his honest commentary.

The truth has its sacrifices, but there’s no need to turn this debate into violence. There’s enough bloodshed in this world. We need to ‘omit’ the violence . Can’t we just agree to disagree.
