Another sad day in marriage land! Monique Mosley, wife of Grammy award winning music producer Timbaland has reportedly filed for divorce earlier this week. The couple have been together for ten years and married for five years. There’s no word on what cause the official break-up but there is a small controversy brewing over Monique’s demand for child support for the couples biological son and Monique’s ten year-old son [whom Timbaland claimed and financially supported since the two met 1o years ago].
Timbaland is reportedly worth $80 million dollars to date. He’s produced hit tracks for MissyElliot, Justin Timberlake, Aaliyah, Nelly Furtado, Kerry Hilson, One Republic, Jay-Z, and many more.
“According to legal documents, Mosley is asking the 41-year-old musician to pay child support for their five-year old daughter and her ten-year old from a previous relationship. She believes this is fair given that Timbaland has publicly and privately proclaimed this child as his own.”
Mosley is also asking Timbaland to begin paying alimony while the divorce proceedings are underway along with “rehabilitative alimony” as she had to borrow money from a friend just to hire an attorney- reports TMZ.
“Rehabilitative alimony is financial support that is provided for a short period of time; to allow the receiving spouse time to get adjusted, establish him or herself, financially. This type of alimony will allow the divorced spouse time to “rehabilitate” him or herself and become completely self-supporting.”
Timbaland seems to be very protective of his monies and while he is currently silent on the divorce the big question is will he obliged to Monique’s request.
