I had the pleasure of attending Tasama Craig’s fall bag launch party which was held at the ‘Gold Bar‘ in the Soho district of New York City on Sept. 18th.  Tasama Craig is the founder of new trendy handbag line, entitled Vanity Life NYC, unveiled a selected few of her signature clutch purse to a crowd of bloggers, press, buyers, fans and fashion insiders.

Inspired by the Manhattan nightlife culture, her pieces aim to infuse women with a dose of confidence and vanity, through statement making handbags.

The premier 9 piece collection was filled with trendy and wearable bags that spoke to the girly but edgy side of women. With expensive dyed alligator and snakeskin, pops of neon color, cheetah prints, zippers, studs and unique fine finishes on both the inside and outside of the bags; guests loved the design range in the collection. Favorite pieces of the night included,

The Teneil” for the rich green and grey snakeskin exterior with zip able pops of neon green on each side and “The Farrah” a limited edition snakeskin convertible clutch with gold hardware and symmetrical gold studs, made as the specialty piece for the launch.

While viewing the collection, guests sipped sponsored cocktails from True Vodka, danced to music by DJ Commish, enjoyed savory treats like “Mac and cheese balls” from the Maloney Porcelli restaurant, and indulged in alcohol infused cupcakes like “Pink Moscato” and “Baileys” from the Cupcake Cutie Boutique. Also adding to the feminine yet edgy theme of the night were custom Aztec/futuristic nails by NYC manicurist Lady Fancy Nails.

“We’re all vain to some extent, embrace it,” the New York City nightlife, fashion culture & hustle has influenced the designer to push forward.  The Vanity NYC woman is edgy, fierce and independent; or needs a bold accessory to give her that added boost of confidence. Encouraging all women to embrace their vanity, Vanity NYC wants women to wear their individuality boldly and proclaim who they are to the world.
