Ashley Williams stole the night during the X-Factor auditions [this week] with a stellar performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” . The 24-year old gave a moving performance that resulted in a standing ovation from both the audience and the judges.
Un beknowst to the judges, Williams dedicated the performance in memory of her slain mother who was murdered when she was a child.
Head judge Simon Cowell said:
“You know what, Ashley, this is why we brought the show to America – find somebody like you. I think we just scratched the surface with you Ashley, because I think that you’re seriously, seriously, good.
Sidebar: I often feel as though whenever someone takes on a Whitney Houston song, the entire world is tuning in just to hear if that person can actually belt out the key notes in the song.
