We waited to hear whether or not a biopic film would be under production for the late great rapper, Tupac Shakur and our answer has arrived. Oasis Films & Morgan Creek Production have partnered up to produce the most highly anticipated film to date; the life of a rapper, Tupac Shakur. Shakur’s mother, former black panther Afeni Shakur will be the producer of the film [as rightfully so] and casting for the film will begin in February of next year.
The film will center around Shakur’s rise to fame. Tupac’s has sold over 75 million records to date. The young rapper died of multiple gun shot wounds in 2006 at the tender age of 25. The movie will reflect further into Tupac’s childhood up through his adulthood and will also shed light on the infamous East Coast, West Coast rap war, his imprisonment on “the false sexual assault charges“, his acting career, and more.
I am so excited and eager to see this film. Tupac was and still is one of my favorite rappers if all time and the real story has yet to be told. Hopefully with Afeni Shakur co-producing will see some of the untold stories.
