A few weeks ago, I caught up with vh1’s Gossip Game star, Vivian Billings at a ladies function hosted by Love & Hip Hop – New York star, Yandy Smith. With the show winding down its first season debut, and Viv being at the center of most of the drama that unfolded on the show, I had so many questions that I wanted to ask Vivian and thankfully, she was gracious enough to speak with us.
Unfortunately, the location of interview was a a bit noisy and it distracted our great audio -video that I wanted to share with our PLUM viewers so instead I’ve provided the transcript version below.
During the first season, we saw Vivian get into several in run-ins with fellow cast-mates [Ms. Drama, Steph Lova, K. Foxx] However, tensions between Vivian and radio personality Steph Lova [who Viv worked with prior] grew thick after Steph Lova took a personal jab at vivian by calling out her transgender daughter during an live interview on the Star and Buc-wild internet show].
I asked Vivian about her rifts with each of these women, her relationship with her now “son” Kayden Scholar, and her upcoming business pursuits.
Peep the excerpts below:
ThatPLUM – What is the Cause Or Beef with Ms Drama?
Vivian: “Actually there is no cause or the beef with Ms. Drama. I’m one way behind your back and in your face – I’m the same person. I don’t ‘turn on’ just because the camera’s turn on. But you know she [Ms Drama] has to – so I think that might of been our problem. I don’t know if we even have a REAL beef . She has never done anything to me, She hasn’t stop my money, she ain’t sleep with my husband, nor is she talking about my kids so its not like a real beef with her. We had an argument on camera and you guys got see it.“
ThatPLUM – On the show we see that you “juggle” family and work [her then nine-five] very well. Now that your on the show – how are you balancing it all?
Vivian: “It’s definitely an ADJUSTMENT because when your in marriage for so long [pause] I’ve been with my husband for 13 years and he’s used to me having a nine-to-five and I think its more of an adjustment thing because I no longer have a nine to five because this [referring to her role as a reality star] is my nine-to-five now but me and my husband we’ve been together for so long that we ride together. He’s my right hand and I’m his left hand.”
ThatPLUM – We saw things get pretty heated with you and former friend Steph Lova. What is your relationship with her now?
Vivian:“There is no relationship. I don’t plan to have a relationship and I don’t want a relationship. And you know -I pray for people like that. ” And you gotta pray for her [Steph] because she don’t know any better.
ThatPLUM – On the show, we saw you struggling at first in coping with your daughter’s decision to transition completely to male and be identified as such but then you decided to support her decision – Why?
Vivian: You have to say ‘son’ now! He’s on twitter as “Pharoah Kayden Scholar”….. I mean I think with any parent, it’s going to be a struggle. because when you give birth to a child and the doctor’s put the child on your stomach and says -it’s girl – that’s what your going to have – in your head that’s what it is. And it hurt my feelings [I’m not going to lie] but that’s my child and I love my child. It’s not easy – but you got to do it.
ThatPLUM – The season is coming to a close, What’s upcoming for Vivian Billings?
Vivian:“What fans can expect is some new deals I’m working on in radio [hopefully it will come through] -shouts to DJ Prostyle [hint hint]. We have also created [myself, Angela Yee, and Sharon Carpenter] “F.C.B” [which stands for Fake Conceited Bitches since that’s what we are according to K. Foxx] so were going to run with that and turn it into a positive.”
ThatPLUM – Since were on the subject of K. Foxx – How’s your relationship with K. Foxx now?
Vivian:“I don’t have any ill-feelings towards K. Foxx. She doesn’t like me and I get it. I wasn’t trying to bash her character [even though that’s what she’s saying to everybody] I was just following a story that I was presented and that’s all I was doing.”
