This is more than a SMH moment but then again Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson behavior in the past year has given me quite a few headaches. So what has Chad done this time around? The former Dolphins wide-receiver was given a “superstar” slap on the wrist on Monday [June 10th] as he faced the court regarding his 2012 arrest for his domestic incident with former wife Evelyn Lozado back in August.
Chad’s lawyer requested that Chad be given “community service” , counseling order sessions, and other mild fines and Judge Kathleen McHugh first agreed and approved the plea request but that decision was immediately revoked after Chad “offended” the court.
Chad clearly got caught up in the moment, and seeing pleased with the outcome, Chad offered his lawyer a fellow token of appreciation “football style” and slapped him on the butt – leaving everyone in the courtroom [including staff] laughing at the gesture. Well, the Judge was infuriated by Chad’s behavior and then ordered for Chad to serve thirty -days [30] in jail.
Sidebar: I never really understood the NFL and NBA rulebook on the whole “slapping butts” gesture.
So I ask again – Why Chad? There is much talk as to whether the Judge “used excessive power” on a personal bias but one thing is certain today – Chad is now in Jail! Let this serve as a warning to MANY – that some RULES must FOLLOWED and RESPECTED or else.
