Kelly has some secrets to release from her closet and she’s revealing a few of them in her new single entitled “Dirty Laundry” In the single Kelly opens up about her past relationship [post her solo career where she says she was abused in all forms by her former partner. Kelly first addresses her very own insecurities; being in the shadows of Beyonce while in Destiny Child girl group and how her intensified following the break-up of Destiny Child. In The Record Kelly says:
When My Sister On The Stage/ Killing It Like A Mother F—/ I Was Enraged /Feeling It Like a Mother F—/ Bird In A Cage/ U Ain’t Never Know What I Was Dealing With/ Went Our Separate Ways/But I Was Happy She Was Killing It/
Bitter Sweet/ She Was Up/ I Was Down/ No Lie, I Felt Good For Her/ But What do I do Know/ For The Records/Off the Record/ I Was Gon Through Some Bullshit/ Post Survivor/ She n fire/Who Want To Hear My Bullshit/
Kelly then touches on her abusive relationship singing:
Meanwhile this N—/ Putting His Hands On Me/ Ya’ll Don’t Know The Half Of This Industry/…..Let’s To Do This Dirty Laundry. Kelly says that she was verbal abused feeling isolated and alone as her then partner would tell her
I was Trapped In His House/Lying To My Momma/….. He Telling Me/ No One Will Love You Like Me/Not Your Momma/Not Your Daddy/ And Especially Not “B” [referring to Beyonce]…. He Turned To Me Against My sister.. I missed Ya”.
Fast Forward to Kelly’s music relaunch as a solo artist Kelly says:
Five years later/ I Got My Shit Down Pack/Think I had It Good/ And They Don’t Know How Bad/ Fooled Everybody/ Except Myself/ Soaking In This Dirt/Bathing In This Dirt….This Dirty Laundry.
Kelly Rowland should be APPLAUDED for her honesty in this record. Clearly, Kelly is in a better place in her life and now that she’s confronted her “inner demons” she can prosper more “freely” both inside and and out. It takes a brave soul to do such a thing especially in the industry [where one wrong word or action] can get you “easily” removed from the inner circle.
Here’s the song PLUM’s
I am so anxious for the release of Kelly’s new album “Talk A Good Game” [which is said to debut this summer]
