-5

Hey PLUM’s. Last week I attended a private event by AKOO, Hennessy, and VH1’s Black Ink Crew cast.  The event showcased Akoo’s  upcoming Summer Collection  with complimentary  drinks by Hennessy along with an exclusive photo shoot of the cast of Black Ink crew. Not all members of the cast were present [including my fellow Loc-a-fella “Dutchess“] but I did get a chance to catch up with Walter, Sassy and OhSh*t Puma arrived after our interview. Check out a few excerpts and the full interview below:

On Their Reality Show Success:

Walter:  …..You know when somebody shakes your hand and say that made my day[referring to the episode].  For us having  1.5 million views for a few months was pretty dope.

Sassy: It’s something new that were all still getting used to.. and I think were all kinda taking it one day at a time. We definitely appreciate all the LOVE. It’s kinda crazy at the shop right now. Now its just like a fishbowl. We have people that are there just to be there; they just want to come in and take pictures or just stand outside the shop and not even come in.

Walter On His Past Struggles of Poverty And How He Sustains A Positive Mindset:

Keeping Positive! I mean every meal. Whether its sandwich or a four-course meal – I Bless It! It’s really about being appreciative – taking it one day at a time and understanding that – with  time things can get better. I had to learn it the hard way. I didn’t always have that mentality. I was always pointing the fingers and blaming everybody else… but I didn’t get into that situation [past struggles] overnight and it took me awhile to understand that I was going to get out of it overnight.

Whatever situation your in  its possible as long as you stay FOCUS, POSITIVE  and surround yourself with positive people….I took myself out of a certain environment and surrounded myself with not to say “stranger” [referring to his castmates] but with people that were about something and they were positive and moving forward.

OhS*it On His Relationship With His Daughter:

She [his daughter] is still out there in Texas, and I’m still going through some legal issues but I talk to her all the tine and facetime her all the time but its change  [you know] she’s not here with me.”

Walter and Sassy then chimed in and noted that OhSh*t was emotionally broken when he was first was separated from his daughter but he has been doing much better with the support of the castmates and hopefully with the “new money” coming in he’ll be able to be the primary caretaker of his daughter once again.

Sassy On Her Adjustment To The Crew And Show:

“Umm The adjustment has been the same. I got introduced to Black Inc through Puma. It was really like this [normal] – I remember walking in Balck In and everyone was like “Wassup Thundercat”….. [Walter and Oh Sh*t chime in] …… [Sassy]I would bring the girls with me all the time and it got a point where they [other castmates] were like “we need to see more of that” and that’s what its been.”

I also asked about the switch in the management role at Black Ink [particularly with Sassy and Walter],  their individual pursuits [outside of the reality show] and whether fans can expect season 2 of their hit show. Find out what they had to say below:
