West Coast Meets East Coast!

Kendrick Lamar is by far one of the “favorite” rap artists in the game right now. His writing talent speaks for itself but his songs [as a whole] takes you on a journey another level. In addition to having one of the number one album’s out -[Good Kid, M.A.A.D City],  Kendrick Lamar singles “Swimming Pools [Drank]“, B*tch Don’t t Kill My Vibe, Poetic Justice” continue to burn up the charts as well as inspire other artists to take on his popular tracks.

Hip Hop music mogul Jay-Z  teamed up the with Compton -bred rapper on the remix track of “B*tch Don’t Kill My Vibe” and [while we know Jay-Z never disappoint], it is Kendrick Lamar who body slams the track once again. Rather than I re-state Lamar’s last verse of the track – I rather you press the play button instead.

Sidebar: It Must Be Good To Be Jay-Z!  Jay-Z done exceed his rap contract years ago yet his still maintain a constant presence in the hip hop industry. This man has transitioned himself in to the business realm [40/40 clubs, part-shareholder of the Brooklyn Nets and the Barclay’s, overseeing Rocafella Records Empire,  just to name a few]  and he just continues to randomly drop-in [from time to time]  on a collaborative track  and or make an album.

However, that was not the case with this particular track. BET.com reports:

“Kendrick told Flex that the remix came about when he found out through Jay-Z’s longtime friend Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith that the legendary rapper was a fan of his album. After Kendrick tracked down Hov and asked him to appear on the remix, Jay dropped his verse and sent it back to Kendrick so he could add his own bars. Kendrick says he knew he had to come correct when he heard Jay’s verse. “When I heard that thing he sent back I said to myself, ‘I can’t be no floozy on this mother—er for sure’,” he said. “All them years of being in the studio, all them years of writing, all them years of free-styling and just being a student of the game don’t mean sh– if I can’t live up to this track, at least by a little bit being beside a legend in it.”

I was so excited it took me a day,” Kendrick added, referring to writing and recording his own new verse. “Jay-Z came and just humbled the whole record, so you just gotta go for what you know.”
