Real Housewives Of Atlanta star and singer/songwriter, Kandi Buruss is taking her former co-star/friend Kim Zolziack to court. As you may recall Kandi and Kim hit it off well since their first introduction in Season 2 of RHOA and Kandi in turn wrote produced the popular track “Don’t Be Tardy For The Party“. By the end of season 3, the two were no longer BFF’s and Kandi went on public record [during the season reunion show] and stated that she “was never compensated” for any portion of the sales of the record and she had felt betrayed from someone she called a “friend”.
So in the court documents filed Kandi is suing for:
Damages for copyright infringement due to Defendants’ unauthorized and unlawful licensing, distribution and sale of Plaintiffs’ creative works, namely a sound recording embodying a performance of a musical composition entitled ‘Tardy for the Party.

Now Kandi admits that she did approve for Kim and her daughter to received writing credits for the song but alleges that “the version that everyone knows and is for sale  I wrote all by myself – says Kandi I hardly got anything from ‘Tardy For The Party.”
Kandi is being represented by her other co-star, Phaedra Parks. When asked why didn’t she pursue legal action before the release of the song, Kandi says:
“I really blame myself, because I didn’t handle my business correctly … I should’ve put what our agreement was in writing from the beginning so there wouldn’t be any confusion.”

Let the trial begin. Stay tuned Plum’s.
