RL [formerly of the hit group NEXT] debuts the visual to his hot new buzzing track “Boo’d up“. The track features RL’s Minnesota native- rapper, Taylor J. In the video, RL speaks on being in a committed relationship and often times wanting to be “boo’d up” with his significant other.
When asked about the new single RL tells ThatPLUM:
“I’m about time with music and I wanted another hit. It’s hard to follow the “Just In Case“, the anything’s or whatever’s for ideas… its really hard to follow that up with just a TRENDY record. I didn’t want to come back with something that’s on radio or do something that’s going to get me spins or get this person to be on the track so I can be “popular” or ‘ill‘ again. I had to ask myself if I was to put on a show and they ask me to do three songs -of course I’ll have to do “Too Close“, and “Wifey” and what song I would put in the middle would be “Boo’d Up” it gives you that feel, and it timeless, plus the song is personal because anyone that knows me -knows that I’m not one to go out. I am the anti-artist. I’m in the bed by 11pm unless I’m watching Laker’s game or forensic files… so I made a record about it. “
