Who wore it best, who needed a wardobe redo, and who should of stayed off the red carpet was the topic of discussion of the 2013 Grammy Award ceremony. As you know the Grammy’s issued a dress code memo just one week before the event; which in turn forced many of some of our favorite stars to COVER IT UP. Well, last night majority of the stars obeyed the rules while a short few listen to their own voices [instead] and decided took a BOLDING chance on the red carpet.
Jennifer Lopez WOWED us once again. Disobeying the rules, the latin singer SERVED it with her one-shoulder Anthony Vaccarello gown with a thigh-high slit. Kelly Rowland gave us chocolate fever in a black Georges Chakra gown, while Solange and Rihanna opted for a more toned down formal gown look instead. Solange’s thigh high slit was not to high, and Rihanna’s upper waist sheer display [didn’t reveal as much], and was perfectly meshed with her flowing red gown.
Let’s take a look at some of our favorite pics of the night starting with the ladies.
Surprisingly, some of the celebs chose to embrace their own style of elegance. Beyonce donned a black and white pants-suit [that showed off her round derriere] – as did Janelle Monae [sans the booty]. Estelle went for printed pattern dress [that matched perfectly with her complexion and Alicia Keys went for the rocker-chic look her black gown. Not my favorite looks of the evening but not my worse either.
These women rocked the red carpet. Chrissy Teigen [John Legend’s fiancee] sizzled in this black number, Katy Perry looked AMAZING in mint green [whch was a great choice by the way]. ET , Host, Rocsi Diaz tackled the pants-suit look the best, and Carie Underwood stole the red carpet with her lace black gown.
Taylor Swift scored high with in her ivory and metallic accent gown. [Love TS but I thought she played it safe in this number yet again.] Ashanti gets two PLUM’s down for this number. They’re is just too much going on with this gown. Carly Rae chose a simple-chic looks but it barely passed the red carpet acceptability bar and Mary Mary’s – Erica Atkins Campbell did well with the color choice and dress but I would’ve of preferred to a longer and flowy gown and a simpler shoe instead.
It was all about the suit and tie for the men as well. Check out some of their red carpet pics below:
Chris Brown donned all white, John Legend navy blue and both wore a traditional tie, meanwhile Justin Timberlake spiced up their suit with a white collard shirt and black bow-ties instead.
Rappers, Nas, LL Cool J, Rick Ross [Da Bawse], and 2 Chainz all adhered to the rules and regulations and covered themselves from the neck down to their shoes. People – Who was your favorite on the Grammy red carpet? Leave your response in the comment below. [nggallery id=78]
