It seems that Frank Ocean has had a change of heart. Last week Ocean got into a parking lot brawl with fellow singer Chris Brown [and his entourage] over a parking spot. Although both men were left with with minor bruises, Brown claimed – no involvement as did Ocean; leaving many unanswered questions as to who started the initial fight. It was later reported that Ocean had planned to press charges against Brown [whom he says started the fight] but it seems Ocean is now ready to forgive and move on. Yesterday, Ocean took to his tumblr page to release the following statement:
“AS A CHILD I THOUGHT IF SOMEONE JUMPED ME IT WOULD RESULTIN ME MURDERING OR MUTILATING A MAN. BUT AS A MAN I AM NOT A KILLER. I’M AN ARTIST AND A MODERN PERSON. I’LL CHOOSE SANITY. NO CRIMINAL CHARGES. NO CIVIL LAWSUIT. FORGIVENESS, ALBEIT DIFFICULT, IS WISDOM. PEACE, ALBEIT TRITE, IS WHAT I WANT IN MY SHORT LIFE. PEACE.”
Despite who’s fault it may be – It’s good to see Ocean peaking the ladder on this one. Although someone would look at Ocean’s statement as a sign of weakness [and or not being brave enough to fight back] – I think it’s quiet remarkable. We live in an age where EGO and PRIDE [for both men and women] are COLLIDING with one another more than ever and VIOLENCE seems to be the top choice of result. Who know’s where this BEEF would’ve of ended up.
