New York, NY – Harlem World & Dipset leader Cam’ron Giles is reportedly broke and has resorted to selling t-shirts these days as a ploy to develop a new reality tv series with VH-1; ‘The Orginal Housewives of Harlem‘ with the help of a popular executive; except the concept is not of his own. When Cam’ron’s girlfriend JuJu posted a picture on her instagram earlier this week sporting the original designs created by P.R.A.D.A. a not-for profit organization that used their sales of the tee’s to benefit their Anti-Teen Gun Violence Entrepreneur Program since 2011, that is when all hell broke loose!
When one of the co-founders of the organization thanked JuJu for supporting their brand as well as answering followers inquiry on where they could purchase the tee’s she was then blocked from JuJu’s profile and hours later Cam’ron was promoting the shirts via his instagram advising anyone interested to hit him up for orders. After which he was addressed by a representative of the organization where he was asked to please not discredit the owners nor the brand and what it represents. Cam’ron then responded:
“Get a store baby!! If you doing so much please do it on your page”
The following day, Cam’ron had an alias contact the co-founder to inform that he would be selling his own shirts and would also be seeking to pitch to the creators of Love & Hip-Hop to create a reality show and informed [P.R.A.D.A] that if their designs were not patented, it was their loss.
Since then the rapper has moved forward in sales of the shirts by tweaking it with the change from ‘The Original Housewives‘ to ‘Original Housewives‘ and has had a team posting several pics of the shirts he created on many different women on his instagram and various other social networks!
Thatplum has spoken with one of the founders [who wanted to remain anonymous at this time] of P.R.A.D.A [Peoples Resource and Development Association] and here’s what they told us:
We are a 501(c)3 non profit that provides assistance to low income families achieving stability and self sufficiency in enhancing Youth Development.“We have original sketches of the t-shirt designs which are entitled “The Original Housewives” , and initially we submitted a poor man’s copyright when we first drafted the sample t-shirts with the intent to make an official patent while once we obtained a supplier to produce the shirts at wholesale value instead. Then all of sudden our product was stolen and duplicated by Cam’ron and [as we seen now] is currently being promoted by Cam’ron’s longtime girlfriend/newly fiancee Juju.“Stealing is Stealing!……What hurts the most is that whether He [Cam’ron] tweaked the shirts [by removing the word “Original“, to now ‘Housewives Of Harlem‘ is WRONG. Furthermore, his [Cam’ron] motives for selling this particular design are selfishly driven to obtain his own financial stability and it goes against everything P.R.A.D.A stands for. Cam’ron is not going to put that money back into the community.”
Clearly, Cam’ron and and JuJu are moving full steam ahead with the alleged ‘stolen’ brand which also include hats.
Hopefully, there can be some type of amicable resolve between the the parties involved. Cam’ron [who is newly engaged to Juju] reportedly spent 100,000 on JuJu’s engagement ring. Now that the two will be walking down the aile, the rumors of a new reality show in the works doesn’t seem far fetched from what P.R.A.D.A is alleging.
