Let The Conversation Begin: Tiny Debuts Tiny Tonight Show On VH1

Tiny Tonight 2012

Nothing Like Good Ole Celebrity On Celebrity Commentary!

Last night I tuned into Tiny’s new VH1 show “Tiny Tonight“. The show stars Tiny [wife of T.I.], Tamar Braxton, Claudia Jordan and rapper Trina [all of whom are close friends with Tiny] and of course the ever -so finny Shekinah [Tiny’s BFF]. I’ll admit at first I was skeptical about watching the show and was unsure if would pass the ‘people’s acceptability bar’ given that the hosts of the show are also celebrities and often don’t like to be judged or critiqued on their talent or personal lives but I was quite pleased by the commentary that spilled onto the airwaves and it seems as though this show may stand a chance afterall.

The show kicked off with some of the hottest topics of 2012. Some the topics included Beyonce’s [controversial real/fake pregnancy video, the triangle love affair between Chris Brown, Rhianna and Karreuche, the ratchetness on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta reality show, Nicki Minaj/Mariah Carey drama and more. Things got heated real quick when Tamar stated that she too thought Beyonce may not have carried an actual baby in her stomach after reviewing the infamous interview video where Bey’s stomach deflated while sitting down. Host, Tiny stated the opposite noting that she ran into Beyonce and touched her stomach and therefore feels she was indeed pregnant. Trina was saying all the right things [which didn’t seem genuine or real]; it seems as though she was trying to maintain ‘neutral pass’ among the industry elite [at least on live television] and Claudia Jordan seemed pretty fair on her opinions with each topic showing both the public perception and the actual evidence of the topic.

Sidebar: Ironically, I was thinking about pitching a similar show for BLOGGERS [with a different twist] -after-all this is what we do all day, everyday.

Nonetheless I understand why Tiny chose these different types of personalities on the show – it makes for good commentary. I enjoyed the show, and from last night’s review I gather the show will be entertainingly controversial at times, yet good to watch. Take a look at some of my favorite moments.
