Is Lil Wayne Retiring From The Music Industry?

Rapper, Lil Wayne has acquired much success since his music debut as a member of Cash Money Records ” Hot Boys” rap group way back when. Since Wayne’s split from the group, Wayne has sold millions of records as a solo artist, founded his own Young Money label [three years ago] which branded the success of Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Tyga’s music career,  and as been deemed as on of today’s Rap Elite artists of hip hop.

Despite Wayne’s constant appearance on featured tracks and the hype surrounding his highly anticipated “Carter V”  the question at hand is will Wayne will continue on the rap path or will he venture in other pursuits like his fellow rappers [ you know – movies, fashion, skateboarding perhaps]?

Lil Wayne recently interview with Sway Of MTV where he address the swirling rumors and premiered his new lead single ”

“I know y’all want me around for a little bit, and Carter V is my last album,” Lil Wayne said. “Man, I’ve been rappin’ since I was 8 years old. I’m 30 now, man. That’s a long time.”……

“I signed my contract at 11, I went platinum at 14 … Thank God I haven’t put out an album that hasn’t went platinum,” he said. “To just keep it going like that, I think not only am I being greedy, I’m fooling myself to think that it will continue to be that great.”
