The Streets Is Talking!
Word on the street is that Basketballwives: LA is going under reconstruction and four of the current six cast members will be receiving their pink slips in the coming weeks. Those listed on the roster are Gloria and Laura Govan, Malaysia Pargo, and Brooke Bailey. Producers were said to be fed up with Gloria Govan after learning that they wouldn’t have the initial credits and or images of her wedding to NBA baller, Matt Barnes.
As you may know, Gloria and Matt married in a private Las Vegas ceremony last month. I wondered why they chose to keep Jackie “Crazy” Christie and Draya Michelle over the other other girls?
The other girls listed were said to be following the actions of Gloria; withholding some of their private relationships [which is the focal point of VH1’s idea of a reality show]. Earlier this month, a viewer of the show demanded to Shaunie O’neal BBW [executive producer] that the show be booted from the airwaves and Shaunie O’neal responded:
Producers of the show have not revealed names as yet but close sources says that producers are currently seeking new candidates.
Laura Govan recently spoke out about Shaunie’s “makeover” comment saying:
I’m might say that I would agree with her,…..A makeover is needed, but I don’t know to what extent.”
“If you gonna have your name stamped on something, you should definitely support it,” Govan claimed, adding that O’Neal doesn’t have much to do with the Los Angeles series.
“If it’s ‘Basketball Wives’ then let’s hold this title,” she said. “At least have some basketball affiliation. At least keep it in the group, just have an affiliation. I’ve been with my guy 12 years, regardless of marriage or not. I’ve paid my dues. Give me some people who have paid their dues.
“At the end of the day, the title is called ‘Basketball Wives’ at least play basketball,” Govan continued. “Let’s not just have the groupies. Get that for another show. That could be the jump-off show.”
